Ofsted and Performance Data

Please find below our most recent Ofsted report.

We were inspected in September 2023 and the overall judgement was that our school "continues to be good."

We are delighted that the report acknowledges our "ambitious aims for every pupil to succeed" alongside a curriculum "designed to spark pupils’ curiosity."

We are also extremely proud that the Inspector noticed and commented upon how our children  "are excited about coming to school and learning." and that they are "polite, welcoming and kind", " confident and resilient in their learning" and that they "achieve highly."

Due to lockdown of the schools, no national testing of schools took place at the end of the academic years in 2020 and 2021.

End of Key Stage 1 Assessments: Year 2

At the end of Key Stage 1 (Year 2), teachers are required to assess each child in the areas of reading, writing, maths and science. National standard assessment tests are used to support teachers’ judgements.

Teacher Assessment measures at end of Key Stage 1 are classified as follows:

Expected Standard (EXS) – Working at the expected standard for a child at the end of Year 2

Greater Depth (GDS) – Working at greater depth within the expected standard, with a strong understanding of the curriculum.

Phonics Screening Check: Year 1

The Phonics Screening Check happens towards the end of Year 1. It is administered individually to each child by the class teacher. It is meant to show how well a child can use the phonics skills they’ve learned up to the end of Year 1, and to identify students who need extra phonics help. The checks consist of 40 words and non-words that a child will be asked to read one-on-one with a teacher. Non-words (or nonsense words, or pseudo words) are a collection of letters that will follow phonics rules your child has been taught, but don’t mean anything – a child will need to read these with the correct sounds to show that they understand the phonics rules behind them.

Early Years Foundation Stage Profile: Reception

The Early Years Foundation Stage Profile is completed for every child in the final term of their Reception year. The profile measures each child's attainment in 17 areas of learning, known as Early Learning Goals.

Children achieve a 'Good Level of Development' (GLD) if they are assessed at or above the expected standards against all of the Early Learning Goals for Communication and Language; Physical Development; Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Literacy and Mathematics.
